If classical ballet is a dream factory, then Marianela Nuñez’s life is a dream come true. She was three years old when, as a child growing up in Argentina, she discovered her passion for dance and never looked back. At 14 she was dancing professionally with the ballet company in her home town of Buenos Aires. At 16 she joined the Royal Ballet in London; at 20 she was promoted to principal dancer. Over the next two decades she established herself as the queen of Covent Garden, adored by fans and critics alike, the ballerina you could trust to rise to the big occasion. Next season she will mark her 25th anniversary with the company. And she’s still going strong.
